Take Action
Traffic violence is preventable, and everyone has a role in creating safer streets.
Whether you have been personally affected by a traffic crash or simply believe that everyone should be able to travel safely, there are many ways to get involved with Families for Safe Streets PDX.
Join Our Community
Families for Safe Streets PDX brings together people who have been directly affected by traffic violence and allies who want to help make Portland's streets safer.
Our monthly meetings are part community gathering and part working meeting—a place to connect with others, learn about our current work, and find ways to participate.
Speak Up for Safer Streets
Public officials need to hear from people who care about preventing traffic deaths and serious injuries.
Throughout the year, Families for Safe Streets PDX advocates for safer street design, effective transportation policies, and legislation that can save lives.

Volunteer
There are many ways to contribute to our work. Volunteers can help with memorial projects, events, outreach, advocacy, and other activities throughout the year.
You don't need to be a transportation expert. If you care about safer streets, we would be glad to have you involved.

Remember
Help us ensure that people killed in traffic crashes are remembered as people, not statistics.
Families for Safe Streets PDX maintains the Portland Victims' Memorial and works on memorial signs, ghost bikes, and Portland's annual World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
